We love animals more than most humans. My husband and I have always owned our own home including several rental properties. Since my husband is a carpenter and can do absolutely any reno there is or fix any problem We have never had to hire work out. If there is ever problem at your house we can likely take care of it ourselves
3 years ago we sold everything and relocated to the Honduran Jungle where we maintained a Canadian development on the carribean. We came back to the Okanagan in the spring and now will not be going back to Honduras because there is a terrorist group taking over titled property by any investor outside Honduras. Bullets are flying so it’s no longer safe to go back to our beautiful home.
While in Honduras we rescued many dogs and nursed them back to health. We also had horses and many chicken.
We have always owned dogs and currently have a 12 year old chug which our grown children keep most of the time.
Since back in Canada we have been housesitting for 2 beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs while thier owners went to Europe for 6 weeks. The dogs get to go to the off leash dog park on Vernon everyday for great excersise which they love. We are also taking care of the home we are in. Maintaining pool, cutting lawn, taking care of garden, picking piles of raspberries, blueberries, greens and freezing for owners. Feeding chickens and caring for bearded dragon.
We really love house sitting as it seems to fit our lifestyle at the moment while we wait intil it is safe to ho back which could be a very long time.
I do not like kennelling dogs so if a dog needs to be kennelled when left alone I prefer not to leave the house and when I do leave the house for church it’s no more than 2 hours. I work online so do not need to leave and animals get attention all day day.
We have 4 children, twin boys and twin girls and are officially empty nesters and we also homeschooled our kids.
